Pine Instrument Company was founded in 1962 as a contract machining firm, which quickly grew into niche areas of asphalt test equipment (design, manufacture, and support), electronics assembly, and electrochemistry, starting with the infamous rotating disk electrode instrumentation and accessories. Since then, Pine Research has grown into the electrochemical/electroanalytical/energy storage field as a prominent and major in the industry. Pine Research develops, designs, manufactures, and supports high quality electrochemical instrumentation including potentiostats and bipotentiostats, electrode rotators, electrodes, cells and glassware, and many electrochemically-focused accessories for several popular applications. They manufacture the MSR Rotator, the most ubiquitous electrode rotator, and are the market leader in rotating disk, rotating ring-disk, and rotating cylinder electrode systems. Their wide range of potentiostat systems include low-cost and portable systems up to high-end systems with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Pine Research develops software, AfterMath Electrochemical Studio, to not only interface to their potentiostats and provide users with an excellent user interface to acquire their electrochemical data, but to analyze and organize their data in a unique manner. Most recently, Pine Research launched AfterMath Live, which is designed for electrochemical simulation of user-defined reaction mechanisms, which is available streaming online without any software to install.
