Modern Pine Research potentiostats interface to a Windows PC via USB. A USB driver is software that allows a hardware device (e.g., potentiostat) to communicate with Windows. The USB chip Pine Research uses, manufactured by FTDI chip, is ubiquitous and used in many devices. The specific chip used in our products requires this driver. There are times when Windows detects new hardware and may assign an incorrect FTDI USB driver. In this case, we provide it here for proper interfacing. The driver is supplied with the purchase of a potentiostat on the USB flash drive; however if you misplace the driver or otherwise wish to download the appropriate driver, you may do so on this page. This download is the FTDI D2XX Driver.
